Best Friends

Twice last week this is how we found the boys when we went to check on them before we went to bed. What is better than seeing your kids being best friends? Though they fight sometimes they adore each other. I am so grateful Luke is great big brother. He is always willing to include Ty when he is playing with his friends. If either wakes up before the other in the morning, they can't wait to see the other and play together. They take care of each other when they are hurt or sad...unless they are the ones causing it :)

Lily is WALKING!! Last Saturday the 3rd she took her first steps. Each day she tries really hard and is getting better. I tried to get a good picture...but mostly she just wanted to play on the stairs.

When Autumn Leaves Fall

Fall is my favorite season. I love the cripsness in the air. The crunching of leaves. The sweaters and jeans. The beautiful mountains colored in changing leaves. The holidays--also my favorite. The start of football season. And of course conference. Always uplifting, always needed.

This year I was lucky enough to get tickets to the General Relief Society Meeting the last Saturday in September. Two of my sisters and my grandmother went with me. We missed Heather and Mom. Heather obviously lives away and Mom was out of town. Would have been perfect if you had been there.
It was an evening I will always remember. One spent with some of my favorite people. Laughing, crying, growing and connecting. Thanks Grandma, Holly and Heidi for a great night.

September-Off track swim lessons

Lily loved swimming lessons. She is not afraid of the water at all. Though I have done this with each of my kids as babies, she was the most willing to do anything---even float on her back, which they notoriously hate. The instructor commented a few times at how natural Lily seemed in the water. Who knows if next summer that will continue.

So handsome! Luke's favorite sport is swimming. Of all the sports we have tried, he seems to have the most natural aptitude toward swimming. He is like a fish with his head always in the water.

Ty really loved swimming lessons. He progressed a lot through the month. He was very tentative at first, but learned to be adventurous.

Once again I am behind on blogging. Though it is later than planned, I wanted to post my birthday tribute to Ty.

So HANDSOME!

Now he is Three!

Ty is such a funny guy. I feel like only those really close to him know him. In public or crowds he is still not super social. Though I do see him starting to branch out as of late. His "crankiness" that we refer to, is starting to ebb as he grows and feels more comfortable with new people and situations. At home he is super funny. Always having us all laughing. Some of my favorite Tyger phrases:

"Do you have pink on? (meaning lipstick). I don't like pink. No kissing pink!"

"You're crazy"--laughing

"Jabama's" (meaning pajamas)

"You're a muffin-head!" He came up with this all on his own. One day at lunch he said this to me. I laughed so hard. So then it turned into "doughnut-face", "poop-butt-face" (then I had to stop laughing and talk about using appropriate words.)

He constantly reminds us, "Mom, we don't say stupid. We don't say poop-butt-face. We don't say idiot" He tells us this just so he has an excuse to say them.

One day after school I was talking to Luke at lunch. Probably between Luke and I, Ty has a hard time getting a word in. So he just started screaming "Cake!" "Brownies" "Candy" "Muffins" So funny!! He just wanted our attention. :)

There are more, but I can't think of them right now.

Luke is his very best friend. He copies everything Luke does. Ty is still fairly stubborn. But he is such a joy to have around our home. We love our little Tyger.

My beautiful baby!! He was so perfect! Completely gorgeous. He was also such a sweet calm baby.

Then he turned into a toddler :) One year old here.

Two years old. This picture really captures how much he has changed in the last year. The biggest sign of this is in how he communicates with us. He is really good at letting us know how he feels. I think this is the biggest contributing factor in his emerging socialness. He is starting to make his own friends. Though he prefers being with Luke and Luke's friends.

One of the things I love about Ty is how he latches onto certain toys. For mine and Jake's benefit, I want to take a stroll down memory lane of his favorite toys:

Most of our readers will have no idea what this means. But for me, it just brings a smile to my face. He is kinda quirky that way. But I love it.

Ty's favorites:

Color: green

Food: pizza, popcorn and any desert

Show: Batman the Brave and the Bold--of course

Book: "I love you through and through."

Shirt: the Hulk shirt or Batman shirt--I know it is weird that he even cares. But he actually really cares about what he wears.

Movies: "The Nightmare Before Christmas", "Meet the Robinsons" and "Duck Tales"

Toy: Shy Guy--but it is lost (which he tells everyone he meets). We have bought two and lost them both. Probably because he takes it everywhere he goes.

Ty loves music and singing. Playing outside. Playing with superhero and mario toys. But as I said before, his absolute favorite thing is being with Luke. I am so grateful for our little boy. Love you Baby Ty!
