First day of T-ball.

Through May and June Luke had T-ball. His team was the Red Sox. Seeing those little 5 and 6 year olds in their baseball uniforms was the cutest thing ever. Luke did a great job! He seems to really like baseball (which he doesn't get from his father:)). The first game was pretty funny as he was still figuring things out. But he really started to get the hang of it. What I loved best about watching him play is a what a great sport he is. He was always cheering everyone on and giving high 5's to every opponent that went to his base. Then he would sit and chat with each one--always the one to make new friends.

For one of his last games Grandma and Grandpa Burt made a special trip to come and see Luke play. I know he loved having them there to watch him. Too bad Mom forgot to bring the camera that night.

Way to go Luke! One thing about Luke. He always puts on a good show no matter what he is doing!

My Birthday

Jake gave me the best prestent for my birthday. A 5 day trip to see my sister in Kentucky. We had so much fun!! I took Lily with me and Jake took the days off work to spend with the boys. I have to make a plug here for my wonderful husband. As if all of that wasn't enough...I came home to a perfectly spotless house, all the laundry done, yard done etc. SO amazing!!

Heather and I had such a fantastic time. We shopped and ate and talked and shopped and talked..well you get the idea :) It was so relaxing. I have missed her so much since I have moved back west and don't get to see her more than once a year now. Thanks again Heather, Reed and kids for everything.

Big Girl

Here she is! Our big girl in her big girl bed!! No more crib! A little sad for Mom. But she was ready and she loves it!

I can't believe she is almost two! She wants so much to be big like her brothers. She is always talking up a storm and learning new words all the time. She insists on doing most everything without any help. Ugh. Bye bye baby Lily, hello little girl.

Ty's Soccer

This Spring we were very busy with sports for the boys. It was a lot of fun for them. I wish I had better pictures here of Ty. He was so adorable in his soccer gear. Though he seemed to enjoy it he usually spent most of the game away from the ball sucking on his finger....oh well. A few times he really got in there and went after the ball. It was nice to have something just for Ty that we could all support him in. Not sure if soccer is the sport that is gonna stick for either of my kids, but at least we tried it :)

Blue and White Game

This month we went down to the Blue and White game at BYU. The players put on a workshop for all the kids for an hour before the game. The boys got to go out on the field and practice being BYU players. Super cool. The boys met Jake Heaps (quarterback) and talked to him along with other players. Despite the snow and cold (sheesh where is Spring?) we had a great time!! We plan on making it a family tradition.

Shoe Diva

Lily is obsessed with shoes! She loves her red shiny or white church shoes--these have now become every day shoes for her. ALL DAY LONG! From the time she wakes up until she goes to bed she has to wear them. She cries at night when we take them off. She can now put them on herself due to shear will power. She raids all of our closets for our shoes as well. It is pretty funny. So here are some random pictures of her shoe obsession. Enjoy!

What's Behind Door Number 1?

A NEW VAN!! I love love love it! Hooray! I have been cramming my three kids into the back seat of my Dodge Stratus for the last 18 months. So liberating. Tons of space, no more "he's bugging me" etc. Keyless entry--wonderful for when my hands are full, which they usually are. I can participate in carpool, hallelujah!! So excited...can you tell? :)

March Madness

I don't know if others feel the way I do. When I get asked "what's new?" The response is usually,"nothin' much." Not the case for March for the Swensen household. At the beginning of the month we welcomed Jake's brother Ben to live with us permanently. He is 16, soon to be 17. He is now a sophomore at Clearfield High School. So in essence we have kinda become parents of a teenager overnight. But, Ben is wonderful. So sweet, helpful...such a great kid and he has fit in with our family with perfect ease. The kids love him and so do we. We are so proud of him and the young man he is. So the last month has meant a lot of paperwork, registering at school, tons of phone calls to get affairs in order, buying a new car---finally a van to fit our family of now 6!!! Finishing the basement, and on and on. This partially explains the blogging hiatus. Ben we love you!! So glad you are part of our family! Ben at Christmas with my boys.
