Twice the Fun!!

Last Friday night we celebrated Ty and Lily's Birthday. So fun!Our first attempt at the dual birthday phenomenon. Super fun! Happy Birthday to my two sweet babies!! I can't believe they are so big! Where did our year go?

We took them to McDonalds on the 2nd--their actual birthday. But with that night being a school night and our last night of baseball we opted to celebrate on Friday night.

Ty helping make the cake....Now helping destroy the cake Friday morning...below is how he looked when he came up to find me. I was distracted and on the phone...honestly having a rough morning and I forgot the cakes were sitting out...Ty however did not!

I LOVE this picture! My boys really are best friends. In fact I asked Ty if he wanted a party with friends for his birthday. He said "no, just Lukey". So sweet.

We had a really great time. I had a fare amount of anxiety leading up to this day. I mulled over how to make it special for them both. Plus it was a big milestone for Lily, and I always feel like that first birthdays are extra special. I know it seems silly, but it has bothered me for a whole year. Everyone I know who knows someone who shares a birthday with their sibling says that they love it, but still I worried. Now after a year of worrying, it was GREAT! So special, so funny, so unique. I hope they will always love it. I hope that they will always share a bond because of it. September 2nd is a pretty awesome day for me. I get to celebrate two of my miracles. I couldn't ask for more!!

Baseball

The boys took a baseball class in August. Ty was so excited to get to be in it this time. Luke has taken all the sports classes that Coach Logan teaches and has really enjoyed it. Currently we are in swimming right now to finish up our fall/summer sports.
Luke showed more aptitude for baseball than some of the others. He got so he could hit the ball without a tee. Here are some shots we got.

Roughing It

We were supposed to go camping with the Speredons the last week in August. But of course as luck would have it, after waiting all summer for a weekend that worked it was supposed to rain all weekend. So the group opted to not camp in the rain and instead to have a "campout" in our playroom. We still roasted marshmellows-just in a firepit instead. And we still went fishing, which was going to be the Saturday afternoon activity. I was kinda bumbed it didn't work out...next year hopefully. I am not an outdoors girl. I am much more of a hotel and dinner and a movie kind a gal...so is my husband. But, we want our kids to have those experiences. Next year we will be more prepared. But they had lots of fun and didn't seem to care. The kiddos.

We have hit the 11 month mark and I continue to marvel at how quickly time is flying for Lily.

Things she has learned this month:

-says "UH-OH" but it sounds like "uh-uh"

-pulling herself up on everything

-cruising around the furniture

-taking steps as long as you are holding onto her fingers

-climbing stairs...but can't remember to turn around at the top...fell down a few times :(

-Stopped nursing right at the end of the month

-throw a ball

-cut two teeth, looks like our little vampire baby

So fun. One Year Old here we come!

Look What Ty Can DO!

Hooray for my little guy! He is now potty trained. After only 10 days we are pros. I cannot believe he was so easy to get trained. We started last Monday. Within two days we were wearing the same underwear all day, wearing pants the whole bit. He will even tell me when we are at the store or something and go there just like a pro. AMAZING! What a breeze this has been. So much easier than big brother was, which honestly surprised me. I thought he would be difficult because every time I would suggest it before he WOULD NOT try to go in the potty unless it was his idea. Ty is fairly stubborn to say the least. But last week we ran out of diapers and we decided that was it. So proud of my little guy! Plus I think he looks so cute in his big boy pants!

Luke has year round school so on July 20th we started school. For the first week we had testing. But now we are into our third week and loving it.
This is Mrs. "Z" or Mrs. Ziegler. She is fantastic. I could not say enough wonderful things about her. I am so excited that Luke got her.

For the first day of school Mom got to stay which was fun...and it kept me from crying. That and the fact that we were running late. Wow! It was so hard to get into a rhythm in the morning. It made me feel like such a bad mom...his very first day of school and we were late. Sheesh! The second day of school Mrs. Z had all the kids wave goodbye to us parents, "so we wouldn't be scared." All the kids happily waved goodbye...then I started to cry. (Big sigh) it is tough, but we are excited for him. Luke is really thriving.

Oh! Too funny, notice the Mario shirt? I should have taken one of the backpack too-you guessed it- MARIO. Anyway, there is a little boy in his class named Mario. Luke thought that was so super cool!
