Our Big Boy!

Just a quick note. Today Ty rolled from his back to his front. Yeah!!! He has been rolling from front to back since he was 3 1/2 weeks old. People probably think that I am exaggerating that, but it is true. Jake says that Ty has rolled before today, but he didn't tell me until now and I didn't see it, so to me this is official. He will be 4 months old on Wed. He is getting really fat!! Changing his diaper is a real chore because he has so many rolls on his legs and belly. Luke was never chubby like this. He carried all of his weight in his stomach, but Ty is just chubby everywhere. He is getting wrists that look like just a big crease and then a little hand. I always say it looks like they have a rubber band around their wrists. I just love him so much!!

Finally

Ty's stocking is finally finished. Hurray-actually I didn't think that there was any way that I would be able to get it done in time, it was the thing I kept not having time to work on. But after staying up late one night and naps yesterday, I finished. His is the elf. It is fun because the boys stockings are somewhat inspired by them, Luke's is Rudolph, with a long face, and Ty's is a round faced, chubby cheeked elf with a dimple in his chin.

12 Days of Christmas update

We took Luke to the mall and let him ride the Christmas train. He LOVED it. The little old ladies were so cute, they let them go around for about 15 minutes because they were enjoying it so much, and one good thing about Decatur, you know that there isn't anyone else in line waiting, the mall was only moderately busy-3 days before Christmas.

BUM, BUM, bumbumbum BUM BUM, bumbumbum

This is Luke singing the Star Wars theme to Ty. It is hard to tell from the picture, because they were both moving too much. Ty LOVES Luke and loves to hear him talk or sing. Luke is indoctrinating him early to the love of Star Wars. Luke can hum the whole song, and many other tracks to Star Wars. Before he goes to bed at night he has started wanting Daddy to hum the Imperial March-Darth Vadar's Theme. Crazy kid!

I told my sister I would show her a picture of my wreath for my front door. She helped me pick stuff out for it when we were in Louisville for Thanksgiving. Heather-what do you think?

Christmas Traditions

Jake and I have a Christmas Tradition that we adopted from his family. Every year we do the 12 days of Christmas. Each night we do a fun activity. We right on our message board every morning what the activity will be. For instance today we went to the Mall and saw Santa and rode the Christmas Train. Then Luke had a full melt down and we promptly left-but that is beside the point-right?

For the most part it has been really fun this year because we could finally pick activities that we could really involve him in. For example for the first day we made Christmas candy trains. It was SOOO fun. I loved doing this with Luke. He was so fun. Suprisingly he didn't even eat that much. He was mostly interested in gluing stuff on with the icing. He loved it so much that he had to make another one the next day-the novelty of it had worn off a little then and that time it was more of an excuse to eat candy. But nevertheless-so fun.

Thanksgiving Pictures

We had such a great time for Thanksgiving. We went to the Deshlers (my sister Heather's family) and the Thorntons (my sister Heidi's family) were there too. All of the girls loved baby Ty and wanted to hold him all the time. I love spending the holidays with family.

Bishop vs. Spaceship

Okay, so the funniest thing happened yesterday. Luke is really into spaceships and Star Wars. Every day we have to play "lightsabers" with whatever he has decided is his pretend lightsaber-Santa is bringing him a real one for Christmas. Well anyway, yesterday after church we were waiting for tithing settlement and Luke was being restless, so I was trying to explain to him that we were going to see the Bishop. He very enthusiastically said "OKAY!" I was suprised at his excitement, but feeling rather happy that he was reasoned with so easily, little did I know! A few minutes later, he started crying and pointing outside saying, "spaceship, spaceship!" I couldn't figure out why he was saying that. I again explained to him what we were doing-going to see the Bishop, again excitement ensued and the whole process started over again. After about the 4th time we figured out that to him Bishop and Spaceship were the same word. No wonder he was excited!!
But he did end up thinking the Bishop was pretty cool, after all, he did give him candy!
