I wanted to post a few pictures of Ty's birthday celebration. We had to celebrate a few days late this year, but he didn't notice or care. He LOVES superheros so we had all superhero toys, books and cake. Batman is his favorite. He really loved his cake which made me happy I could make it for him. Mostly he just loves cake, but he thought the batsymbol was pretty cool.

September 2nd was a crazy day for us this year. I was AGAIN in the hospital bringing another sweet child into the world. Ty didn't know or care that it was his birthday. I usually spend a lot of time reflecting on my kids birthdays. These days are some of the best of my life (top 4 moments). They are my angels from heaven, my little miracles. I couldn't imagine life without them. Now Ty and Lily will get to share their special day. Jake says he thinks it is because they loved each other so much that they wanted to come on the same day and have that special bond. I like that idea.

Ty is my boy with no fear. He is wild and mischievous and wonderful! He makes us laugh, and truthfully I think he gets away with more than he should because he is so stinkin' cute. He loves movies, eating, playing outside, eating, Batman, Star Wars, eating and movies. He knows all of his letters, loves to sing, wrestle and do anything that big brother is doing. He has brought so much joy into our hearts and home. The day I found out I was pregnant with him filled me with so much joy and it has swelled and grown to more than I thought I could feel. I remember my mother telling me that as you have more children your love just grows. I didn't understand that until I held Ty for the first time. I was overcome with emotion. My beautiful little boy touched my heart so deeply and has added a new dimension to my life as a woman and mother. Tyger, we love you and all your fiestiness. We are so grateful you are ours forever.

6 lbs. 10 oz. 18 inches. Beautiful, healthy, precious...couldn't imagine life without her now.

Getting Ready for Lily

I made her a set of 12 burp cloths this week.

Her nightstand. We painted it black and I added cute hardware. Made the new lamp shade.

Trying to get a good shot of the bedding. I am so pleased with how it turned out. I really think it looks so much like the picture (see previous post about Summer projects). I love the color of soft pink on the walls and in the sheets and bumper pad. Just what I wanted. So sweet, so girly. Jake thinks I am going to make her hate pink...but who cares. After two boys bring on the pink!

We are almost ready. As you can see her bed and bassinet are ready. Need to boil bottles, binkies etc. Wash all her clothes and blankets. Pack my hospital bag. But that is just about it. I would still like to get some soft sheer curtains and cute rod to finish things off. But that may need to wait a few weeks.

Baseball week

Through the month of July Luke took a sports class. Each week they focused on a different sport. Coach Logan from Luke's soccer class in June was also the coach for this class. Luke loved it. This time his great friend Tres got to do it with him. So fun. Luke also loved that we had so many visitors in July who got to see him at his class. During the football week Nee-Nee and Papa were here. Papa was so sweet helping Luke learn to do kicks. (I would have been afraid of getting kicked myself.) Papa is a big football fan and was a star football player in high school. From his years playing ball he earned the nickname "Lefty" to which he stills goes by today. I thought it was special that he got to share this with Luke.

Auntie Caitie also came and saw Luke which was really fun too. The last week was baseball and uncle Jordan was there to help Luke learn to hit the ball from a pitch instead of a tee.

Luke isn't the most coordinated kid. But the sports classes this summer have really helped him with his coordination and balance. He actually showed great skill at baseball. So who knows. But either way he LOVES the social aspect of it.

Induction Set

I saw my Dr. yesterday. Things are going great. As he was measuring me he told me, "Goodness you are OUT of room." Like it didn't already know that! She has taken over! I feel enormous and very cramped. We are all ready to be done I think. But we are both healthy and that is the most important thing. My Dr. put me on the schedule for induction September 17th. One month from yesterday. That will be 39 weeks for me. Ty came a week and a day early, so here's hoping she doesn't decide to wait till then. But nonetheless, we have started a new countdown.

Coupons

My friend Sarah taught me about this new way to grocery shop. I have been trying it out over the last few weeks. Today was my best success. By following a website called Grocery Smarts and saving my coupons from the Sunday paper for the last month I have been formulating my new grocery shopping pattern. The goal is to really build up our food storage and eventually save money on our grocery bills every month.

Today I got:
12 boxes General Mills 17 oz. cereal (Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Cheerios, Cocoa Puffs, Trix, Lucky Charms)
6 boxes Kraft Mac and Cheese
1 box butter
8 oz. block Tillamock cheese
10 Dannon yogurt
1 Pillsburry cookie dough pack
4 Kraft salad dressing (16 oz.)
24 pack bottled water
3 Spray and Wash bottles
3 Spray and Wash Stain Sticks

Total: 37.65
Total Savings: 95.07 (They show this number to you on the bottom of your reciept after all your coupons, promotions and preferred customer card). Pretty awesome huh?

July 4th

We are having a great time with our house guests this month. Jake's sister Caitlyn and her daughter Cloe are here visiting for a few weeks. For the fourth of July we had a great time. We went to lunch, went swimming and then went to the Clearfield City celebration. The band "Imagine", a Beatles tribute band, played and were awesome. Then we watched fantastic fireworks. It was a great day.
